The pride of Danville, Virginia - Terrell, Tremaine and Trey Edmunds
THE EDMUNDS
FAMI LY
On Sept. 7, 2015, Terrell, Tremaine and Trey
Edmunds became just the third trio of brothers
to take the field together at the same time in
the same game for a major college football
program dating back to 1970. The Edmunds
accomplished the feat on kickoff coverage. They
joined Oklahoma’s famed Selmon Brothers (Lee
Roy, Lucious and Dewey) who all played defense
for the Sooners (1972-73). Central Florida’s
McCray Brothers – Cliff, Jordan and Justin - all
played on the offensive line together in 2010.
It should come as no surprise that the sons
of Ferrell and Felicia (aka Cookie) Edmunds all
found their football homes in Blacksburg and
have enjoyed success on the gridiron. A two-
time Pro Bowl tight end, Ferrell was a third-
round pick of Miami in 1988, earning Pro Bowl
berths following the 1989 and 1990 seasons.
After five seasons playing with Dan Marino
and the Dolphins, he concluded his career in
Seattle (1993-94). Meanwhile, Felecia was a
star athlete in her own right, running track at
Southern Illinois.
